We’ll help you find a pair that will endure a child’s active lifestyle, as well as be comfortable and stylish. Synsenteret also has a very large selection of kids’ sunglasses with the possibility of prescription.
How do I know if my kid needs glasses?
There are ten common signs to look out for that will indicate whether your son or daughter could need glasses. If you recognize one or more of the signs on this list, we highly recommend scheduling an eye exam:
- Squinting
- Constantly turning his or her head
- Sits closer than normal to the TV screen
- Will lose track of where he or she is on a page
- Has to cover an eye to read or watch TV
- Has an excessive tear fluid problem
- Will rub eyes frequently
- Needs to use a finger to guide the reading
- Suffers light sensitivity
- Suffers frequent headaches
It’s important to note that though your kid might have some of these problems, it doesn’t necessarily have to mean that he or she needs glasses. Some cases will be covered by the Norwegian Labor and Welfare Services (NAV). We’ll gladly help to complete the required forms, just let us know. Sunglasses for children
Synsenteret Stavanger has a large selection of sunglasses for children aged 0-12, and all sunglasses have 100% UV protection. We have sunglasses in various sizes and price ranges.
Are you afraid your child will lose the sunglasses the second you buy them? We have spectacle cords in many varieties and colors. Some of the sunglasses for the very little ones even come with an accompanying rubber band/cord.
3 tips on finding the right pair of kids sunglasses
- Find the right fit! The sunglasses should not be sized to “grow into”, or be too small.
- The glasses and lenses should be dark.
- Let the child be part of the process! If the child doesn’t like the sunglasses, they won’t wear them either.
